Work as an Independent Recruiter

Working as an independent recruiter for short-term or long-term employment has numerous advantages. You can be your own boss and have the flexibility to work according to your schedule while meeting your clients' deadlines. As a freelance recruiter, I have the freedom to work from anywhere and select which clients to work with. I have the power to control how many clients I take on at a time and can specialize in any sector that I choose.

As an independent recruiter, my primary responsibilities are discovering excellent clients and locating skilled candidates. Having someone else manage the paperwork, records, and bookkeeping is essential, or else it can become overwhelming. Although being an independent recruiter has its ups and downs, it has allowed me to develop new skills, improve upon existing ones, positively impact people's lives, and build a thriving full-time business. As a recruiter, my top priority is aligning and supporting diversity objectives and overcoming any challenges that come my way. To achieve this, recruiting managers must receive training and education on the significance of diversity. It can be challenging to recruit and retain individuals from underrepresented populations. Still, a company's commitment to diversity and willingness to make changes can significantly impact it.

As the founder of Arcadia, my primary duty is to hire and retain the right people. Recruitment is essentially marketing, so if you work as a recruiter, you must view yourself as a marketer. If not, you might be in the wrong profession.

I work closely with recruitment managers, executives, and their teams to find talent acquisition solutions for business challenges. I am adaptable and open-minded when collaborating across departments, groups and geographies.
